The exact opposite problem happens when the dryer won’t turn off. The cause of this problem is usually either a broken door switch or timer.

TIMER WILL NOT ADVANCE

A dryer timer has to advance in order to complete the cycle. When the timer doesn’t advance, it could mean there is a broken timer motor or cycling thermostat.
